Time Away

I feel like I am getting better at packing, each trip I take. The first trip we took with Lily, I think we had a suit case each, a pram, a portacot, a car seat. We had to sit with heaps of stuff on us so we could fit ourselves in the car - and I used disposables on this trip too!!

This trip I have managed to bring down only on board luggage, for a trip probably longer than the first one we took, with our favourite MCNs in tow too! (although I did use some of mum's onboard luggage for this) Hopefully next time I will have it down to just on board luggage. Imagine that!!! I could probably bring less MCNs down with me and wash more often, but I have too many favourite ones to decide on which one to leave at home, I think. I am sure there are other ways I could save room though. (Although I always find that I am going home with a lot more than I came down with, does anyone else have this issue?)

What are you best travelling tips? What is something that you CAN'T live without when you go away? Is there anything that you have that you find helps you save room, while still having all the 'necessities'?

I always feel like I 'think' more while I am away from home (and Chris). Maybe it is because I don't have him around to talk to, so I 'talk' more with myself, or maybe it is because I don't have my daily tasks to look after, such as the washing or cleaning the house. In saying that though, I can't ever wait to get home!

Where and when do you seem to get most of your thinking done?

Mothers' Groups

I am contemplating writing to my local (parliamentary) member to try and set up a mothers' group for my local area. There wasn't one available when I had Lily, and I would have really loved it, as we don't know many people where we live. And I am sure it would have been good for Lily too.

In saying that though, I have had online mothers' groups, which I don't know how I would have survived without! With their support, funny stories, and friendship, these last 11 and a half months have seemed to fly by. Lily and I quite possibly wouldn't have had the relationship that we have now, and may not even be the people we are now. I was even part of some of these groups while pregnant, which also helped me with all my first pregnancy questions and discoveries.

Have you got a mothers' group that you are part of? What support systems do you have where you are?

If you want to join an online mothers' group, there are a few places to start. You can look at joining one of these forums (although there are many more out there, so please feel free to suggest others if you use them):
(These forums are also good for support while trying to conceive, pregnancy, and throughout the life of your child, as they have a lot of different areas you can join in on, and ask for advice/support)

Need for a Daily Roster?

There is so many things to do, and not enough time in the day to do them, or so it seems to me. I hate days when you feel like you have not been able to get anything done, but you thought you had a whole day to do things. Story of my life at the moment!! Which is why I am starting to think that I need to draw up a daily routine so I can attempt to fit in all the tasks that would help me feel like I accomplished something.

I am also attending Pinky McKay's teleseminar on 'Balancing Business and Baby'. Hopefully there will be some really good tips on how I can get out of this 'rut'. It is free, so I would suggest any mums (or dads), looking out how to manage their time better, and still have quality time with their baby/children, go and register!

Lily has just stirred, so that is the end of my day. I would love any suggestions on how you plan out your day and fit in all the things you need.

Good night!

A place to think...

Well, I thought I best start getting a blog going. Been having lots of ideas of things to write about, but no where to really express them. This blog will only be temporary, until I set up the one on my website. Woo! Can't wait until my website is fully functional.

Only a short post today, as my daughter is asleep on my lap.

Keep smiling :)
